What is concrete & sidewalk cleaning?

Commercial concrete and sidewalk cleaning uses hot-water power washing and rotary surface cleaners to remove gum, oil and grease stains, rust, salt residue and embedded grime from sidewalks, entrances, plazas and drive-thrus. It is part of Midwest Maintenance Services’ commercial power washing service and is usually done overnight.

Sidewalks and entrances take a beating: chewing gum, spilled drinks, oil drips, winter salt and ground-in dirt. Dirty flatwork makes a storefront look tired and can create slippery conditions.

We use truck-mounted hot water with surface cleaners for even, streak-free results, plus targeted gum removal and stain treatment. It’s a fast way to make an older property look well maintained, especially after winter.

This service is part of our Commercial Power Washing program, so it can be scheduled alongside storefront, building and flatwork washing.

Concrete & Sidewalk Cleaning FAQs

Can you remove chewing gum from sidewalks?

Yes. Hot-water, high-pressure steam softens and removes gum from concrete, pavers and brick without damaging the surface.

When is the best time to clean sidewalks?

Spring is ideal to remove winter salt and grime, but high-traffic properties benefit from monthly or seasonal cleaning year-round.
